Upliftext is operated by Rhianne Newton, trading as Upliftext, based in the United Kingdom. Rhianne Newton is the Data Controller for all personal data collected through www.upliftext.com and its associated services.

2. WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT
We collect the following categories of personal data depending on which of our products or services you use.
2.1 Identity and Contact Information

2.2 Relationship and Personal Information
To personalise your Upliftext subscription messages, we collect personal information including:
— Relationship status and stage
— Relationship goals and focus areas
— Love language(s)
— Attachment style
— Communication patterns and conflict style
— Partner's name and email address (if subscribing as a couple)
— Key dates such as birthdays and anniversaries (for keepsake postcards)
For Clarity Coaching clients, additional sensitive personal information is collected via the intake form, including details of your relationship situation, emotional experiences, and any relevant background you choose to share. This information is treated with the highest level of confidentiality.
2.3 Payment Information
Payment is processed securely by Stripe. Upliftext does not store, process, or have access to your full payment card details. Stripe acts as an independent data controller for payment processing. Please refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy for full details.
2.4 Communication Data
We retain records of communications between you and Upliftext, including email correspondence, WhatsApp Business voice notes and messages (Clarity Coaching clients), and contact form submissions via the website.
2.5 Technical and Usage Data
When you visit www.upliftext.com, Squarespace automatically collects certain technical data, which may include your IP address, browser type and version, device type, pages visited and time spent on the site, and referring website. This data is collected by Squarespace and used for website analytics and performance. Upliftext uses this data in aggregate, anonymised form only.
2.6 Cookie Data
Our website uses cookies as managed by Squarespace. Cookies are small files placed on your device that help the website function and enable analytics. You can control cookie settings via your browser. Squarespace manages the cookie consent banner and settings on our behalf.
3. HOW AND WHY WE USE YOUR DATA
We only use your personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so under UK GDPR.
— Delivering your subscription messages: Processing your relationship information to personalise daily texts and reminders. Lawful basis: Contract performance.
— Delivering keepsake postcards: Using your postal address and key dates to send physical postcards. Lawful basis: Contract performance.
— Clarity Coaching support: Using your intake form information and communications to deliver your coaching package. Lawful basis: Contract performance and legitimate interests.
— Journal delivery: Using your name and postal address to ship your physical journal order. Lawful basis: Contract performance.
— Billing and account management: Processing payments and managing your subscription via Stripe. Lawful basis: Contract performance and legal obligation.
— SMS text message delivery: Sending personalised relationship messages to your mobile number. Lawful basis: Consent (given at sign-up).
— Transactional emails: Sending account-related emails including welcome emails, intake forms, billing receipts, and service updates. Lawful basis: Contract performance.
— Marketing emails: Sending relationship tips, product updates, and occasional offers. Lawful basis: Consent. You can withdraw consent at any time.
— Website analytics: Understanding how visitors use our website to improve user experience. Lawful basis: Legitimate interests.

4. SMS TEXT MESSAGES
We use a third-party automated SMS delivery service. By subscribing to Upliftext and providing your mobile number, you consent to receive recurring automated personalised text messages from Upliftext on the number provided. These messages form the core of your subscription service.
To stop receiving SMS messages at any time, text STOP to the number from which you receive your messages. You will receive a confirmation that your opt-out has been processed and no further messages will be sent to that number. You can re-subscribe at any time by contacting info@upliftext.com.
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile network and tariff. Upliftext is not responsible for any charges applied by your network provider.
If your mobile number changes, please notify us at info@upliftext.com promptly to ensure continued delivery and to avoid messages being sent to an incorrect number.
5. EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS
We use email to communicate with you about your account, deliver your intake form link, send billing confirmations, and provide service-related information. These transactional emails are necessary for the delivery of your service and you cannot opt out of them while your account remains active.
Where you have given consent, we may also send you marketing emails including relationship tips, journal content, product news, and special offers.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email, or by emailing info@upliftext.com. Unsubscribing from marketing emails will not affect your subscription, your service delivery, or your receipt of transactional account emails.
6. WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH
Upliftext does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third party for commercial or marketing purposes. We share your data only with the following trusted service providers, and only to the extent necessary to deliver our services:
— Squarespace: website hosting, form data collection, email newsletter delivery, and website analytics. squarespace.com/privacy
— Stripe: secure payment processing and subscription billing management. stripe.com/privacy
— WhatsApp Business: encrypted delivery of Clarity Coaching voice note support. whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy
— Postal and courier services: delivery of physical products (journal and keepsake postcards). Your name and address are shared with the relevant carrier for delivery purposes only.
All third-party processors are required to handle your data securely and in accordance with UK GDPR. We do not authorise any third party to use your data for their own marketing purposes.
We may disclose your personal data if required to do so by law, by court order, or by a regulatory authority, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person.
7. SENSITIVE PERSONAL DATA
The relationship and personal information you share with Upliftext — particularly through your intake form and during Clarity Coaching — may be sensitive in nature. We treat this information with the highest level of care and discretion. This data is used only to deliver your personalised service, never shared with third parties for any purpose other than service delivery, stored securely with access limited to Rhianne Newton only, and handled in accordance with the confidentiality commitments set out in our Terms and Conditions.
8. DATA RETENTION
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law.
— Active subscribers: Data is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 12 months following cancellation, to allow for any billing queries or service-related communications.
— Clarity Coaching clients: Intake form information and coaching communications are retained for 12 months following the end of your package.
— Journal and product orders: Order details and delivery information are retained for 7 years to comply with financial record-keeping obligations.
— Marketing email list: Retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
— Website analytics data: Managed and retained by Squarespace in accordance with their data retention policies.
After the applicable retention period, your personal data will be securely deleted or anonymised.
9. DATA SECURITY
We take the security of your personal data seriously. Measures we and our processors take to protect your data include use of Squarespace's secure encrypted hosting infrastructure, payment processing exclusively through Stripe's PCI DSS-compliant platform, Clarity Coaching communications delivered via encrypted WhatsApp Business, access to personal data limited to Rhianne Newton only, and no storage of payment card details by Upliftext.
While we take all reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of data transmission or storage is entirely without risk. In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in accordance with our legal obligations.
10. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Upliftext is based in the United Kingdom. Some of our data processors — including Squarespace and Stripe — may process data outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your data in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.
11. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER UK GDPR
Under UK data protection law, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
